Rockstar Games has now confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Pre-orders are officially live, giving players a much clearer picture of the launch price, available editions, preorder bonuses and preload dates. After years of rumours, leaks and speculation, GTA 6 is finally moving towards a proper release.

GTA 6 release date and platforms

The currently confirmed GTA 6 release date is:

19 November 2026

At launch, the game will be available on:

  • PlayStation 5
  • Xbox Series X
  • Xbox Series S

Rockstar has not yet announced a release date for the PC version. Based on how Rockstar has handled previous games, many players expect the PC edition to arrive later, but nothing has been officially confirmed yet.

Rockstar previously explained that the additional development time would allow the studio to finish the game with the level of polish players expect.

GTA 6 UK price

GTA 6 is available in two main editions in the UK:

  • GTA 6 Standard Edition — £69.99
  • GTA 6 Ultimate Edition — £89.99

The Ultimate Edition Upgrade is also listed separately for £20, meaning Standard Edition owners will be able to upgrade later.
These prices are currently listed across both the UK PlayStation Store and Xbox Store.
Considering the scale of Rockstar’s previous games and the amount of playtime many people have managed to get from GTA 5, the £69.99 starting price is considerably more reasonable than some of the rumours had suggested.

GTA 6 preorder bonuses

Players who purchase GTA 6 before 20 November 2026 will receive the Vintage Vice City Pack at no additional cost.

Digital pre-orders also include one month of GTA+, although the subscription will automatically renew at the normal monthly price unless it is cancelled.

The Vintage Vice City Pack includes a selection of retro-inspired items celebrating Vice City’s neon-soaked past.

GTA 6 preload date

Digital preloading is expected to begin on:

12 November 2026

That gives players one week to download and install the game before its official release.

Rockstar has also confirmed that the boxed physical version will contain a digital download code rather than a game disc. Boxed versions are expected to become available from 12 November to allow customers to preload the game ahead of launch.

Welcome back to Vice City

GTA 6 takes players back to a modern version of Vice City, located within the fictional state of Leonida.

The story follows Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, who become caught in a criminal conspiracy after what should have been a straightforward job goes wrong. The pair are forced to rely on each other as they attempt to survive the consequences.

Rockstar has shown that the game will extend far beyond central Vice City. Confirmed areas include:

  • The Leonida Keys
  • Grassrivers
  • Ambrosia
  • Mount Kalaga
  • Port Gellhorn
  • Vice City

This suggests GTA 6 will offer a much broader and more varied open world than a simple recreation of the Vice City featured in the 2002 game.

Rockstar has also introduced several supporting characters, including Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Dre’Quan Priest, Real Dimez, Raul Bautista and Brian Heder.

What happens next?

With pre-orders now open, Rockstar’s GTA 6 marketing campaign is entering its final stages.

The next major updates are likely to focus on gameplay, additional story details, technical information and the final launch rollout. We may also learn more about performance modes on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as the release date approaches.

PC players will have to remain patient. A PC version has not yet been formally announced, and Rockstar has not provided any indication of when it might become available.

Our take at Fire Power Cloud

We believe Rockstar will meet the 19 November 2026 release date.

The game has already been delayed to allow additional development and polishing time, and Rockstar has now opened pre-orders, confirmed preload dates and published detailed information about the available editions. At this stage, everything appears to be moving towards a full launch in November.

We also think £69.99 is a very reasonable price for a game of this scale. Rockstar’s previous releases have offered hundreds, and potentially thousands, of hours of gameplay. When compared with many shorter games launching at similar prices, GTA 6 looks well priced.

It has been an incredibly long wait, but we believe it will be worth it.

As for PC players, Fire Power Cloud will be ready.

When GTA 6 officially launches on PC, we will be releasing a special GTA 6 cloud gaming box built specifically to run it properly. It will have more than enough processing power, memory, storage and GPU performance to deliver the experience the game deserves.

No scraping the minimum requirements. A proper GTA 6-ready gaming box designed to let you jump into Leonida from almost any compatible device.

More information will be announced as soon as Rockstar confirms the PC version and its official system requirements.
